All schools have an obligation to protect pupils under their safeguarding procedures. Defending pupils’ wellbeing and minimising negative impacts on their school experiences is vital to helping them flourish in schools. As educators, school staff are in the vanguard in recognising detrimental influences and behaviours that impact young people.
Knowing how to identify and tackle bullying (in all its forms) and exposure to potential extremism and radicalisation is critical. As such, schools have a duty to ensure staff receive adequate training to identify and address activities that expose young people to these vulnerabilities. This five-unit course equips staff to identify and respond to concerns of bullying, radicalisation and extremism.
